“...failure with clay was more complete and more spectacular than with other forms of art. You are subject to the elements... Any one of the old four - earth, air, fire, water - can betray you and melt, or burst, or shatter - months of work into dust and ashes and spitting steam. You need to be a precise scientist, and you need to know how to play with what chance will do to your lovingly constructed surfaces in the heat of the kiln.”
― A.S. Byatt, The Children’s Book

The Idea

CREATE!!

This idea was born out of passion and necessity.

Taking a hobby and going blindfolded into trying to make an income as an artist. (hilarious, I know. Starving artist is a real term for a reason) Luckily, that kept me from seeing all the trials and failures…But it also gave me the the blind courage to move forward and create a career that can support my family and one that I completely love.

Style & Quality

I love functional pottery. I have always been drawn to mugs and platters. Which is really the reason I took my first pottery classes.
It excites me to know that there are so many drinking their morning coffee out of my mugs and decorating their table with pieces I have created for their family meals.
My style is definitely derived from nature and the colors that surround us. I am inspired constantly by Michigan’s Great Lakes, forests, rivers and the snow we spend so much time in.

100% Handmade

All the pottery is made on a pottery wheel or hand built.
I am lucky enough to have a studio at my home that allows us to experiment in the early mornings or really anytime that creativity strikes.
This allows for new designs, colors and allows the love for clay to expand.
The fact that I get to collaborate with other artists with so many different talents makes me realize, I will never get bored.
